Patient Service Representative - Full-Time, Days
DESCRIPTION:
Performs front reception functions to ensure patients are able to access the
health care system efficiently and appropriately. Apprises patient of payment
policy and explains patient charges. Collects payment and keeps accurate records
of charges and receipts. Performs duties related to the processing of patients
for medical services according to established guidelines.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential: standing, walking, seeing, hearing,
speaking, lifting and carrying usual weight of approximately 0-20 pounds,
reaching above, at or below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions,
frequent gripping of objects/materials. Continuous: finger dexterity and
eye-hand coordination. Frequent: sitting, stooping/bending, twisting body,
squatting, kneeling, and climbing step stool. Occasional: climbing stairs,
walking on uneven ground, pushing/pulling usual weight up to 20 pounds. Operates
computer, copier, calculator, typewriter, shredding machine, fax, phone,
printer, and credit card machine.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental
conditions. May be exposed to chemicals, body fluids and communicable diseases.
Exposure to fast paced work with critical decision making and multiple task
handling.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A. Education/Certification and Licensure:
1. High School education or equivalent.
2. One year post High School education involving medical terminology preferred.
3. Current certification in Heartsaver CPR.
B. Experience:
1. One year experience as Medical Receptionist in medical outpatient setting
preferred.
2. Prior experience with computerized scheduling systems preferred.
KAPOLEI CLINIC
Team Leader I - Full-Time, Days
DESCRIPTION:
Supervises daily clinical operations to ensure clinical protocols and
departmental policies and procedures are adhered to. Implements, manages, and
evaluates quality improvement projects to enhance the quality of patient care.
Supervises and performs the monitoring of performance and problem resolution.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential: standing, walking, seeing, hearing,
speaking, lifting usual weight of approximately 5 - 100 pounds, reaching above,
at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of
objects for short periods of time, and prolonged frequent gripping of objects.
Continuous: finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Frequent:
pushing/pulling usual weight up to 25 pounds, lifting/carrying usual weight up
to 20 pounds. Occasional: climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, sitting,
squatting, kneeling and climbing step stool. Operates computer, printer, fax,
phone, shredding machine, copier, credit card machine, and various diagnostic
medical equipment.}
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Possible exposure to chemicals, body fluids, and
communicable diseases. Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental
conditions. Exposure to fast paced work with critical decision making and
multiple task handling. On-call 24 hours a day.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A. Education/Certification and Licensure:
1. Registered Nurse with current State of Hawaii Certification required.
2. Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (Level C) required.
3. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
B. Experience:
1. Minimum of 1-2 years clinical experience in an out-patient setting or
combination of in-patient and out-patient clinical experience required.
2. Minimum of at least 1-2 years of management experience preferred working with
multi-disciplinary personnel/agencies/projects preferred.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of management theory and practice preferred.

Nursing Assistant - Call-In position
DESCRIPTION:
Performs a variety of duties pertaining to patient care, material and supply
distribution and equipment assembly. Performs duties in accordance with
departmental and The Queen’s Health Systems policies, procedures and
regulations.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential functions- Continuous: lifting up to 2 lb.,
seeing, hearing, talking, grasping, fingering. Frequent to continuous: standing,
walking, stooping, forward reaching, handling. Frequent: pushing and pulling up
to 30 psi, lifting up to 10 lbs., sitting, bending. Occasional to frequent:
squatting, twisting. Occasional: pushing and pulling up to 70 psi; lifting:
horizontal lift/carry up to 75 lbs. with assistance, floor to waist up to 35
lbs., waist to shoulder up to 25 lbs., overhead level up to 15 lbs.; carrying up
to 35 lbs, running, climbing, side bending, kneeling, crouching, overhead
reaching. Operates various machines/tools/work aids.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Inside work. Exposure to body fluids, blood
products, and communicable diseases. Work environment may be highly stressful,
fast paced and hectic.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A. Education/Certification and Licensure:
1. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, both orally and in
writing.
2. Completion of Certified Nurse Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant or EMT
training program; or,
a. Nursing student having completed a semester of clinical fundamentals; or,
b. RN with a foreign RN license with at least one year clinic experience.
3. Nurses Assistant certification may be required depending upon area of
assignment.
4. Current CPR certification at a Heartsaver level.
B. Experience:
1. Recent experience in an outpatient clinic setting preferred.
